If you're not able to get the drop on the Strogg, you may want to use all of these routes. If the Strogg's defenses are too much you might want to try taking the northern route by having a soldier blow open the barricade, or constructing a bridge to the south. It may be a good time to have some Field Ops come in and call strikes on the area. The Shield Generator close to Strogg home turf, so it won't be an easy target. You might need to reinforce this area with the usual deployables to secure continued access. Just northeast of the Shield Generator is a spawn point that will be crucial to your success in this mission. Keep your strongest vehicular units guarding the front of the MCP, but have some support at the rear, too. Have Soldiers armed with Rocket Launchers ready to finish them off. EMPs are handy for getting the drop on deployables. If you act quickly, you may be able to complete this objective quickly, but if not, a well rounded push will be prepared for anything. Trojans can be handy as well, and are also a good means to carry Engineers that can repair the MCP, should it be necessary. Support your push with some offensive vehicles like Titans to clear the way. It takes a little longer, but taking the right fork when leaving the base and following the easternmost road north is generally the safer way to go. The Strogg have alien weapons and vehicles, some similar to what the humans have and some unique.You must first deploy the MCP due north of the GDF base. Online and offline play modes are available with different modes for computer and console players: PC/Mac and Linux versions let you play individual campaigns/maps/stopwatch games against bots while the console versions have full single player campaigns (The single-player allows for combat as both sides over the course of the game.) The Human weapons and vehicles are based on modern combat weapons/vehicles but updated for the futuristic time period of the game. Each player class from each side normally has new objectives show up during game play, many times based around the specific capabilities of your class. This allows for much more focused and intense combat situations, similar to the original Unreal Tournament assault mode. Unlike other team-based online games (such as the Battlefield series) the game play is much more focused on one or two main objectives at once vs spread all over the combat area. While the teams are asymmetrical both sides have the same basic weapons and tools to complete objectives. Teams are based on Human (GDF) and alien (Strogg) technology.
